Most Visited Online Shopping Websites Revealed
Where are Australians flocking when it comes to local shopping and how do Aussie retailers stack up with international retailers thrown into the mix?
According to recent research by CupoNation, JB Hi-Fi has come out on top of the most visited Australian shopping websites. The analysis was conducted by the global discount platform between January to June 2018. It looked at the largest Australian shopping websites and then both the largest overseas and Australian sites, tracking the numbers of visits from Australia and ranking the top 10 most visited shopping sites in both categories.
The analysis found that JB Hi-Fi attracted approximately 74 million local visits in the relevant time period. Bunnings came in second, attracting 68.82 million local visits in the same period. With 53.65 million site visits, Woolworths came in third place, followed by Kogan and Kmart, with 42.82 million and 42.81 visits respectively. Also making the Top 10 list were Coles, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, Big W and Target.
eBay Australia topped the list of most visited local and international shopping sites with almost 405 million site visits, followed by Amazon.com with almost 112 million visits. Amazon Australia came out in seventh place in the same category, with 52.44 million visits. In comparison, eBay’s international site had 80.46 million visits, coming in second place. The results show that Aussies are still preferring to use Amazon’s international website rather than the recently launched Australian marketplace.
